'The Last of Us' season finale: Did Joel do the right thing?

Washington Post - Technology News

Regardless of how you feel, it's pretty clear that what Joel did was selfish. He could say that it was to ensure Ellie has a future, no matter the cost. But it's undeniable that he had Sarah, his murdered daughter, in mind as he "rescued" Ellie. In episode 6, HBO laid the groundwork with his new confession (not featured in the game) to his brother Tommy: Joel struggles with the possibility of losing another young girl in his life. His biggest fear is being unable to "protect" her.

What's on TV this week: 'Saved by the Bell'

Engadget

This week we'll celebrate Thanksgiving in the US, and nostalgia will be all over TV screens and Peacock resurrects Saved by the Bell with a cast that includes new younger actors and several of the stars from the original show. Other throwbacks include Mad Max on Ultra HD Blu-ray and a Buck Rogers box set, but for something newer you can check out Peninsula, a sequel to the excellent Korean zombie movie Train to Busan as it arrives on Ultra HD Blu-ray. Netflix's latest feature film is Mosul, along with its Hillbilly Elegy movie. Criterion is also releasing a special edition of Netflix's Martin Scorsese feature The Irishman, however it's sadly only available in 1080p Blu-ray without the benefit of 4K and Dolby Vision HDR. For an all-new option, try Superintelligence on HBO Max, where Melissa McCarthy stars as a woman chosen by an all-powerful AI for surveillance via her various connected devices.

What's on TV this week: HBO Max, 'Space Force' and 'Uncut Gems'

Engadget

This week HBO makes its assault on streaming with the new HBO Max service. At launch it will include tons of archival content like the back catalog of Friends, Rick & Morty and 2001: A Space Odyssey, as well as a fleet of new original shows, movies and specials hoping to get your attention on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to the new Looney Tunes Cartoons, as well as the comedy/drama series Love Life with Anna Kendrick, but there's a lot more to choose from. Of course, Netflix is the current giant in streaming and it's not laying down for the newcomer. This week it already added Uncut Gems for viewers in the US, and later this week it will premiere a Jeffrey Epstein documentary series and the new show Space Force starring Steve Carell.

Channel 4 has announced there will be a second series of Humans, its most successful drama in 20 years, ahead of the show's highly anticipated season finale on Sunday night. Set in a parallel present, Humans has prompted widespread debate about artificial intelligence. It imagines a world in which we increasingly rely on robots, marketed as high-tech luxury house appliances. As the eight-part drama has progressed, it has wrestled with questions around artificial intelligence and its possible threat to mankind, as well as exploring what it means to be human. The next instalment the writers said will "take the world forward a little bit and explore the next phase of the technology".
